Getting a list back out: filters, tags and saved views
Storing contacts is the easy half. This is the retrieval half โ narrowing thousands of records down to the twenty you want to ring this morning.

What it does
What is on the screen
Filter on almost any field
Where they came from, what stage they are at, when you last spoke, what they bought. Stack several and the list narrows with each one.
Tags are labels you choose
Anything you want to find people by later: a service, an area, a job type. You add them, so they mean what you decided.
A saved segment keeps itself current
Save a filter and it is a live view, not a snapshot. Someone who matches it tomorrow appears in it tomorrow.
How it works
Getting a list out
- Open Contacts and add a filter for the thing you care about.
- Add a second and a third until the list is the one you meant.
- Save it, so you never rebuild the same filter twice.
- Act on the whole list at once: tag it, message it, add it to a workflow.
Worth knowing
Worth knowing
- Tags multiply quietly. Fifteen on one contact is already hard to reason about, and nobody prunes them later.
- Two tags meaning the same thing split your list in half without telling you. Agree the names before other people start adding them.
- A filter only sees data you captured. If nobody records the job type, you cannot segment by it.
