Blocks, dragged into order, checked on a phone
The builder specifically. What the blocks are, how an email gets assembled from them, and the preview that matters most โ the one on a phone.

What it does
What is on the screen
An email is a stack of blocks
Text, image, button, divider, spacer. You drag them into order down the page rather than laying anything out by hand.
There is a phone preview
You can see the same email at phone width before it goes. Most of your list will read it that way, so it is the view that counts.
You can send yourself a test
A test send goes to your own address first, so a broken button or a wrong name is caught by you rather than by four hundred customers.
How it works
Building one
- Start from a saved template if you have one, or an empty canvas if you do not.
- Drag in the blocks and put your words in them.
- Switch to the phone preview and read it again at that width.
- Send yourself a test, click every link in it, then schedule the real send.
Worth knowing
Worth knowing
- A builder rewards fiddling, and fiddling is how an email misses its week. Set yourself a limit before you open it.
- Mail apps render differently. A layout that is fine in the preview can still break in somebody's older email client.
- Design is the smallest part of whether an email works. The offer and the list decide it.
