Open the board. Here is what you are looking at

The screen itself. What each column stands for, what a card tells you at a glance, and which movements happen without a hand on the mouse.

What it does

What is on the screen

A column is a stage

Each column is one step in your process, in the order you set. A card sitting in a column tells you where that job stands.

A card is one opportunity

The customer's name, what the job is worth and how long it has sat there. Enough to decide without opening it.

Some cards move on their own

A booking or a payment can move a card while you are elsewhere. The card history says which workflow did it.

How it works

Working the board

  1. Open Opportunities. The board fills the screen, one column per stage.
  2. Read left to right. The further right a card sits, the closer the job is to done.
  3. Drag a card to the next column when the work moves on.
  4. Click a card to open the contact behind it, with the calls and messages.

Worth knowing

Worth knowing

  • A wide board on a small screen means scrolling sideways. Six stages is comfortable; twelve is not.
  • The board is only current if cards get moved. It shows what you told it, not what happened.
  • Cards moved by automation still need reading. Movement is not the same as progress.
